Take a look at this description of the
Accessibility API:
<a href=http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/access/index.html
target=new>http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/docs/guide/access/index.html</a><br><br>
Essentially the Accessibility API provides support for
assistive technologies such as screen readers, speech
recognition systems and refreshable braille
displays.<br><br>Sincerely,<br>Anthony Eden

For those interested, there is a Federal Law
which mandates that applications for the general public
should take into account handicap
accessability.<br><br>So, depending upon the audience of your application,
you should use the Accessibility API.<br><br>Stephen
