Announcement: DITA version 1.1.2 toolkit update
The DITA team at IBM has released an updated version of the DITA
toolkit as a download from the developerWorks XML Zone. This
version, packaged as an archive file called dita12.zip, represents
the culmination of the past year`s testing and implementation of
the DTDs in IBM`s internal authoring and production workbench.
You can access this updated toolkit by visiting DITA`s "home page"
on developerworks
(http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/xml/library/x-dita1/index.html)
and finding the Resource link, "Download the latest DITA DTDs, style
sheets, and sample documents."
Highlights of this distribution include:
o The DITA Language Reference, a PDF description of DITA elements,
attributes, valid contexts, and examples. At last!
o The latest version 1.1.2 DTDs (version 1.1.1 was an internal
version used last year for testing, and subsequently updated)
o A new XML Schema instance of the DITA specialization architecture
o Demonstrations of specializations for FAQ and element reference
info-types
o Demonstrations of map-driven "delivery contexts" for aggregated
topics and Eclipse helpsets
o XSLT transform updates:
- Consistent usage of a shell interface mirroring the DTD
structures
- Documentation of processing parameters and transform tweaks
- Bug fixes
o CSS updates:
- Consistent usage of a shell interface mirroring the DTD
structures
- Provision of a specialization-enabled stylesheet that directly
supports new specializations
