CF Controlled Server -> PC Download
Hello. I`m new to this list.
I confess at the outset to be a cold fusion novice, and I`m appeciative of
your time.
I`m writing a CF application which searches a database of graphic
keywords, presents thumnail versions, and then allows them to be
downloaded. (That`s the hope anyway)
I got to the download part, and was hoping the browser would
behave in the same way it does when it sees a .doc file extension
(the images are .jpg), and just ask you where you wanted to save it.
Unfortunately it doesn`t. So I went looking at the cold fusion developer
site and saw a custom tag for downloading files. Is this the way to do
it? I was surpised not to find anything in the CF book I have
on downloading, and am wondering if I am missing something basic.

I assume the browser is simply displaying the .jpg files
as pictures (as it was taught to do)...
Not sure Cold Fusion is the best solution to this problem.
You might want to look into a JavaScript based solution.
