Doubt in abstract class

Doubt in abstract class
Dear Friend,
I want to copy a Abstract Base class pointer which is
pointing to a derived class object to another Abstract Base class
pointer(same type as first one) such that it should create a new replica.
Later even if i delete the first one, the replica
should call the correspoind virtual funtion(its derived class function).

Can you help me?.
