Old time perl programmer finally doing web programming
I`m quite comfortable using the perl debugger, which works great for
character based applications. I know that CGI.pm does have a simple
approach for running from the UNIX shell, but I`m now working with
scripts that are served by Mod-perl. What I`ve been looking for is some
sort of way to step through my application while running on Mod-perl,
but have come up short in finding such a solution.
I`ve compared notes with many coworkers doing the same stuff, but the
best anyone seems to have is some variation on print statements. The
one thing I`ve found quite helpful is to use Data::Dumper to visualize
data structures. Mason makes this quite easy in fact, but I can`t help
but miss having the ability to interactively inspect, set breakpoints,
etc.
Thanks,
Glen
