experience, not very.

Hi, Ralph,
Overall, I`m not sure just how common it is to find those qualities
in 1 person though I work with all of those programs and I didn`t think I
was uncommon. I`ve worked w/ Photoshop for nearly 2 years, Fireworks &
Dreamweaver (a little Flash, too) for the past 1 year, and I`ve been
learning CF over the past 2 months or so. I`m glad that I work with each of
them as they (obviously) serve different areas of my web development needs.
Surprisingly, since CF is essentially HTML w/ CF specific tags (I`m
oversimplifying), it`s not that hard to get your mind around if you have a
HTML background. I decided to undertake CF as I am developing a few sites
that need the dynamic interaction that a database-driven site offers
however I`ve already picked up a job working on an established CF site so I
can see how having this experience will continue to help me in the future
for projects other than my own. I`d imagine that there are a number of
developers/designers that are undertaking CF as an addtional tool for their
"toolbox" in addition to HTML and other development methods.
Needless to say, I`m constantly learning with every software
package that I have and do NOT profess to be an expert by any stretch of
the word. I`ve learned all that I have either through sheer necessity or an
interest. Ultimately, all I can say is that I`m trying to develop the
skills necessary to keep me relatively viable in an ever-shifting field.
That`s just my 2 cents worth.....

Re: Digest Number 21
Sure, its possible. I do some graphics, write fiction, understand SQL/IDC, use
DHTML and write ASP scripts. I was commenting on the jobs where two complete
different jobs (ie. graphic design and C++ programming) are lumped into one
low-paying offer because the employer/recruiter doesn`t know better or is too
cheap.

I have an evaluation version of CF and intend to learn as much as time will
allow.
