Re: Hi All - Need little advise
When talking from a sys admin`s point of view:
Anything you open up is a security risk.
When talking from a developers point of view:
It`s nice to have the ability to connect remotely to a sql server.
The question is, is there anyting like a web interface for your customers to
your database which will satisfy your customers which will allow the sql
servers to be shielded from the outside world.
My answer:
Probably not :P

Re: Hi All - Need little advise
Plesk for windows has a very nice web based interface, but I think this is a
trend and people are much more comfortable to work from enterprise manager
from their desk.
With majority of hosting providers as people want to remotely develop .Net
application on their website, access like mentioned below is must. What do u
say?

Re: Hi All - Need little advise
Problem:
If I add items to a listbox via javascript and then try to post them
back to the server, I get the following error.
Is there any way around this? I could build my own validation script to
make sure incoming data is safe but not sure how to do this. (VS 2005
VB.Net)
Server Error in `/` Application.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----
Invalid postback or callback argument.
Event validation is enabled using <pages enableEventValidation="true"/>
in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" %> in a page.
For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback
or callback events originate from the server control that originally
rendered them.
If the data is valid and expected, use the
ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to
register the postback or callback data for validation
Thanks,
rick
