Is this on a local LAN connection or access via the internet?

If it is on a local network, you could probably use the machines mac address.
But it is on the internet if is going to be tough though.

Intrestingly if you google to see "How can I find out the user MAC ADDRESS?"
there is an discussion on the subject with PHP code, you may want to try it out
if you already haven`t

One thing to note would be that even MAC addresses can be spoofed.
