Re: tif Images/barcodes
jennifer,
not sure exactly what type of application you are heading towards.
so some more info would be useful.
but, generally ...
we do a lot with Tiffs.
we use a piece of software called TiffSurfer
(http://www.visionshape.com/TiffSurfer.htm) to view and manipulate
them.
it loads an Active X control (i believe) and has some pretty powerful
tools.
the code to load the Tiffs is pretty painless though we have had major
issues with Quicktime hijacking our TiffSurfer file association with
Tiffs.
hope that helps a little.

I am trying to put together a general specs sheet for a client,
regarding creating tif images. These images will later be scanned and
the information populated into an Excel spreadsheet. I have very
little knowledge on this subject, or what type of software they are
using. Are there any kind of general rules on type, size, paper
coating, etc.? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Re: tif Images/barcodes
Still looking for more information...
The tif image will be printed directly on a mail piece. Once the
mail piece is received, this image will be scanned using a barcode
scanner, which will populate the data directly into Excel. We refer
to it as a tif image, but I`m not sure if this is a data matrix
barcode? Some information I found said that Code 39 is the most
commonly used, but knowing little about the process, I`m not exactly
sure what they are referring to.
Thanks for the help!
