The only way is to keep track of them is by using database tables. As for
the problem that they might have closed their application without logging
off, have a look at: http://www.codeproject.com/dotnet/heartbeat.asp


Btw, with little bit of tweaking to this example, you can even get rid of
database use.

I have two users who login from their windows based developed application
from two different terminals. Application has been developed in vb.net
windows application. I want to know who is online and who logged off? How
can I do hat? Pls note that User may not always properly log off, instead he
may just end task application so pls if some one can think of something
clever pls let meknwo too. Regards,
