I am new to this list... I am trying to learn CF and it has been an
uphill battle. But I am slowly getting the hang of it... BTW I am
having a problem that I can`t seem to get over.... is there a way to
show subtotals and grand totals of numeric fields out of an Access
Database? If anyone is interested, please send me a note and I will
send more info about what I am trying to do...

I have never used Cold Fusion, but I am interested in learning, and I
wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions on the best way to learn,
and anything I should learn fisrt. I already am proficient with
VBScript, JavaScript, a little ASP, HTML, etc.

Well, you sound alot like me. I`m proficient in about the same areas that
you are, it would seem. What i`ve done is gotten Allaire`s Cold Fusion
Studio, which has really helped. I think you might be able to download a
free version from their site (www.allaire.com) but I may be wrong about
that. It`s got a pretty good HELP section but other than that I would
suggest buying the Cold Fusion Kit at like Amazon or something. Just a
thought...Are you a Web Developer, then? Where do you live? I am and live
in New Hampshire.
Welcome to the group...I don`t know how many people are on the list but
hardly anyone ever posts.

I`m about to change work. In my new job I`m going to maintain a website wich
uses Cold Fusion. Since I`m new to Cold Fusion I joined this list so I can
ask questions and learn what others have to say.

Hi,
I am an aspiring CF programmer. I started messing with it when my BIL told
me about it. Now, I am seriously in the process of teaching it to myself.
I am using Ben Forta`s book to learn. Hopefully, I will be able to take in
some contract work and eventually find a full time job doing this.

I just looked at a job posting (www.multimediator.com - Betaville - Jobs) where
the employer wanted skills with Adobe & Macromedia products (graphics/animation,
I presume), other multimedia skills, plus CF knowledge. In your experience, how
likely is that in one person? In my experience, not very.
