Hai Folks,

(1) I want to monitor a perl script and when that perl script
stops running, I want to run another perl script immediately. Is that possible.
(2) I want to determine the time when a perl script exits.

Please advice me,

1) Is there some reason why you can`t run the scripts in some sort of
batch mode? Unix and Windows both support that. Otherwise you have
to decide how much time you can wait between the script exiting and
the next one starting and check the process list for that perl script.

2) Some OSes allow you to audit events, there may be an event for a
process exiting. Otherwise, you could write to a file or touch a file
at the end of execution. Again, this could be done in a batch mode.
If you want to know how long it took for the perl script to run, use
timex (on UNIX) or some equivalent for other OSes.
