Schema to standardize XSL stylesheet high level customizatio
Hello all,

This might not be directly related to this mailing list usual topics,
but I thought some of you might have faced the problem or could help me
in my quest.

So the starting point of my discussion is that it is quite difficult for
beginners that come from WYSIWYG word processing to create their
customization layers and find the right parameters for their needs. Even
when there is very good documentation like for DocBook.

So I imagined there could be a standard way for XSL developers to
declare the XSL parameters that allow users to simply control the
behavior of the stylesheet. Such parameters could be notably:
- xsl:param
- FO attribute-set

They could be sorted in categories and the definition could include:
- documentation
- default value
- list of valid values or range

Such document could be used to automatically generate:
- the documentation for the stylesheet customization
- A graphical user interface for the user to change any parameter and
automatically generate the customization layer.

Do you think this could be useful?
Did you ever heard of something like this?

Cheers,

Camille.

Camille,

I think the latest version of oXygen XML Editor may have
support for something similar to what you describe.
